Prevent user portraits from being clickable

Problem/Motivation

Hello,

I created a content type "blog", but my concern is that the portrait that appears in the publication is clickable (which of course leads to a "Access denied / You are not allowed to access this page. "for an anonymous.

I would like to prevent the click on the portraits, since moreover the link towards my author is not active him either.

I do not see where I have to look.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to the theme setting, 'Page element display' and tick 'user picture in posts'.
  2. First update your user account with a profile image (this is where the issue is).
  3. Add an article
  4. When you see the article as anonymous user, the author's profile image is clickable.
  5. When there is no permission to view other user's profile, it ends up in 'access denied page'.

    I tested this on Drupal 10.1.x, standard install. Using the steps to reproduce in #4 a user picture is not displayed for the admin user or anonymous. I eventually found that the display of the picture can be changed in the theme settings. Once that was done I could confirm the same results as in the Issue Summary.

    Created a patch for disabling the clickable user picture in post (compact view mode) based on current user (anonymous or not).
    Please go through #15 🐛 Prevent user portraits from being clickable Needs work to reproduce the issue.

    Removing credit from #17 as it's expected the patch to be tested before uploading and patch #5 still applies to 10.1
