I had this same issue and patch #6 worked for me.

Patch #3 worked for me; however, it is missing an "Add" button on the config page, so I had to edit an existing format for this to work. I was able to manually get to the add page, but could not save the new pattern.
Closing this issue, I think I have located the issue elsewhere.

Based on everyone saying this doesn't work, switching back to needs work.
Patch #11 fixed a critical breaking issue for us. This should be merged as is.
