I think this is outdated following the ReverseContainer solution added in 🐛 Performance regression introduced by container serialization solution Fixed ?
In #2531564: Fix leaky and brittle container serialization solution → there was some discussion around implementing WeakMap and/or different hashing or non-hashing solutions.
It was decided to look at the various options in a follow-up issue, which this is.
