Differentiating blocks in layout builder is hard

Problem/Motivation

It is hard to differentiate blocks in the layout builder UI because nothing is visually separating blocks.

Examples:

I was looking at a media field and wondering why the padding from blocks isn't applied to the Youtube video until I realized they are in the same block.

The image looks like it's in the same block with the text, but it's in its own block.

Proposed resolution

One solution could be to show the contextual link not only when hovering the contextual links but also when hovering elsewhere on the block. However, this doesn't address the problem on mobile devices that have only touch available.

  • Confirm the patch solves the problem
