This is an extremely old report, does this issue still exist in Drupal 11?
Labels for specific date fields are not announced correctly by JAWS. As an example within the “Create Page” screen, the “Publish Date *” text box is announced by JAWS as “Date edit required 2017-01-30 … type in text”, instead of announcing correctly as “Publish Date edit required 2017-01-30 type in text”.
The defect exists in IE 11 and Google Chrome v55.0.2883.87 m.
Expected result: All labels are expected to be announced correctly by JAWS. In this instance, JAWS is expected to announce “Publish Date edit required 2017-01-30 type in text”.
Reference: Section 508, Part 1194.22, Paragraph (n).
Notes:
• This defect also exists elsewhere within the application.
• This defect exists on a screen that is not accessible via a keyboard. The tester was forced to use the mouse to access this screen, which is not acceptable for a JAWS user.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open JAWS v18.0.2118.
2. Open Drupal
3. Use the Tab key to navigate to the “Manage” button and press Spacebar/Enter to select.
4. Use the mouse to select “Content” -> “Add content”.
5. Select the “Page” link.
6. Use the Tab key to navigate to the “Publish Date*” text box.
