Drupal 10.2.2
Focal Point 2.0.3
The patch #27 not working for me. After changing focal point, I need to make a clear cache to have the updated image in DOM and even then it's still the old image that's displayed. And if I refresh the page, the old image in displayed & is in DOM (the cropped image no longer appears anywhere).
After discussing it at a localize meeting, I looked into the matter and here are my proposals.
To be able to easily integrate interaction on suggestions without overloading the translation list page too much, I would move the suggestion creation input to a modal and replace this input in the list page with a button that opens the modal:
In the modal, I recall the original sentence to be translated, as well as the list of translation suggestions already made and which can be used when writing (in an accordion to take up less space). I then add an input where the suggestion can be made and a second one below if the author wants to leave a comment.
Once the suggestion has been added, a "Comment this suggestion" link will appear in the list below the suggestion. If the author added an additional comment when creating the suggestion, this will count as the first comment in the counter next to the link in the list.
When you click on this link, a new modal opens with a reminder of the string to be translated, the suggested translation, any additional comments from the author and the comment feed.
Finally, when the author of the suggestion opens the interaction modal, they can modify their suggestion and add a new comment to mention their changes.
What do you think about this suggestion of UX flow?
We could display a banner in a fixed position at the bottom of the screen, which would appear when the user starts encoding a translation. In addition to this, we would need a confirmation request when the user wishes to change page, but has not saved their translations (modal).
In fact, each team uses the tabs in a different way, so for me, whatever changes we make, we're going to be creating more problems than solving them. So do we need to go any further?
This ticket covers 2 points:
- the order of blocks on a group landing page (see # 3345220 📌 Side bar blocks order: thinking about the UI/UX Active )
- the order of blocks on the Localize home page:
for the second point, here's a proposal for changing the display of the home page to highlight the contribution instructions:
1. move the "how to contribute" section up into the main section of the page
2. move the "Set up your group" section back into the main section of the page, in the form of an accordion.
Based on gwenweb proposal, I made a few adjustments:
- add more context to the 'Status' filters
- invert the place of the submit button and the option to reset filters
- adjusted the order of the filters for greater consistency between the closed and open filter versions
Here's the visual proposal:
