Huge +1 to have Emma on core's lead team. Her commitment and experience are incredibly valuable and will help Drupal in a lots of way. I've been working closely with her for a long time and can state she'd totally suited for a lead role where collaboration with the community is strategic.

Huge support for this from me! Emma has been fantastic to work with on Drupal CMS and I think it will be great to formalise her involvement in core too. This also feels like a big step generally toward prioritising UX!

I have worked with Emma on a few of the weekly Usability meetings and in BoF sessions at DrupalCon Vienna and DrupalCon Atlanta. Emma is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We are lucky that Emma volunteered to join the Starshot Advisory Council, and I think that Emma is perfect for the newly created UX Manager role for Drupal core.

+1 I've not worked with Emma much but we need core leadership in this area and recognising the Emma's role in Drupal CMS by making her the UX Manager for core is great and part of the plan of how Drupal CMS would bring new voices and leaders into Drupal.

Marking ready based on the internal core team discussion, some of which is reflected above :)

+1 here as well, I have not worked with Emma directly but I have seen and heard encouraging things coming out of Drupal CMS and think she would be a valuable addition to the team

However, setting this back to active as there is no MR, we need a patch against MAINTAINERS.txt.

Adding myself as a non-provisional UX Manager to make sure we comply with the governance as each role should have a non-provisional role.

Doing the change myself to unblock this issue and have Emma's change in soon, but we agreed to this extra change with @gΓ‘bor hojtsy, @catch and @nod_. Moving this back to Needs Review so someone else approves it.

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I couldn't let this go by without adding my endorsement.

For those who don't know, Emma and I both work at the University of Edinburgh, and although we work in different teams, I do know Emma well and have been here for her journey through Drupal.

Emma's journey into Drupal is not the typical one, she isn't a developer, Emma's background is in content design and user research, so when Emma approached me a few years ago in the office and said she saw me on a few recordings from the Drupal Usability Group and was interested in learning more, I was both surprised and delighted! I've watched as Emma's involvement has grown, from getting involved in initiative, such as Promote Drupal, to starting the Drupalisms working group, to standing up and presented at Drupal events in front of all of us, even presenting on stage at DrupalCon Atlanta, and getting fully involved in Drupal CMS.

The fact that Emma is a UX practitioner, means that she brings a skillset that we in Drupal are sometimes lacking. If you haven't worked directly with UX and content professionals - like Emma - then you might not fully appreciate just how valuable and unique of a skillset that person has. It's the experience and the ability to research, understand and solve complex problems in a way that puts user needs at the centre. I can think of a number of those complex problems that we've struggled to solve in Drupal.

We are lucky to have Emma in our community, which is why I have absolutely no reservations in endorsing Emma as Drupal's newest UX Manager, the leadership that Emma has shown and will continue to show is incredibly valuable and admirable, I believe that we will and are all benefiting from Emma's insight, knowledge and skills. I hope that Emma can be an example of how UX professionals can get involved and contribute to Drupal.

Lastly I just wanted to say that knowing Emma as a colleague and friend, having been there for her journey, I'm proud of everything she has accomplished, and I'm proud of our community for making Emma feel so accepted and valued.

As they say, come for the software, stay for the community.

    -Aaron
