Trailing view arguments are not set to default value if a previous one is empty

Changes are made on on 11.x (our main development branch) first, and are then back ported as needed according to the Core change policies → .

So you had it right the first time pointing to 11.x, think of that as the main branch. Fixes will have to land there first.

Also as a bug we will need some test coverage also
