Problem/Motivation

The new Drupal logo/new Drupal brand is ready, πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ see https://www.drupal.org/blog/new-drupal-brand-ready-for-drupal-9-launch β†’ for more

It's time to bring it into Drupal core.

Potential tasks:

  1. Replace favicon
  2. Replace logo
  3. ... to be added

Proposed resolution

  • Draft a trademark/copyright policy to be committed along with brand assets (see example from Wordpress community)
  • Commit brand assets along with trademark/copyright policy
  • Add assets to default administrative and front-end themes
  • Add asset as default favicon

Links might be useful:

  1. A favicon generator https://realfavicongenerator.net/
  2. The new brand kit https://www.drupal.org/files/Drupal-Logos_1.zip β†’

Remaining tasks

Needs discussion:

  1. Should drupalicon be replaced?
  2. Should logo be replaced? Replacing them in 9.x only? or all branches?
  3. ... to be added
