Mapped alt text not rendered after update to 1.1.x

Problem/Motivation

After updating to 1.1.x alt text mapping is removed and must be added back per the parent issue, but it appears the issue goes deeper and even after adding the mapping back alt text isn't properly rendered on the front-end of the site and instead always displays the filename field rather than the mapped and sync alt text.

Steps to reproduce

  1. With 1.0 installed; edit DAM - Image and map the Description field to the alt text of the media entity.
  2. Run cron, sync metadata for test asset(s)
  3. Create or edit some content using an image
  4. Confirm that alt text is appearing on the front end for images from DAM
  5. Upgrade to 1.1 and run database updates. Return to edit screen for DAM-Image media type and the mapping will be removed.
  6. Return the mapping for alt text to description field and save.
  7. Optionally run cron, sync metadata and assets.
  8. Check previously created/edited content and the alt text will now show the filename vs. the expected alt text mapped from DAM.
