@sboden does this module work perfectly fine with phpspreadsheet v3?
If yes, we could make the composer.json file compatible with both versions I think.

@heddn have you been able to successfully use xls_serialization with phpspreadsheet v3?

I didn't do any manual testing. Are there any automated tests that would at least prove out some common functional differences?

All tests are passing fine with phpspreadsheet 3.9.0.
Let's merge this to branch 2.1.x for now.
If everything goes fine, we'll merge back to 8.x-1.x and 2.0.x branches.
