Screen reader does not announce error messages. This creates an accessibility issue because an end user wouldn't be alerted if there was an error when creating or updating content.
When an end user is creating, or updating, content and they are missing a required field and goes to publish the content an error message is displayed at the top. The screen reader does not detect this and it does not read it to the user.
