[META] Track 14: Proposal for advanced search

Summary

We would like to include a recipe for a more advanced search than Drupal core's search capability in Starshot. This may be included in the base recipe and enabled by default, or it may be an optional selection. This partly depends on what will be included.

This track is to do an assessment and propose a recipe for a better search experience.

Work to be done

  • Analyze Drupal's current capabilities and identify gaps compared to alternatives solutions
  • Research and document industry best practices
  • Map identified best practices and gaps to a recipe proposal, without implementing it
  • Evaluate the feasibility of creating a recipe
  • Propose the recipe proposal to the Starshot Leadership Team; the leadership team will them decide on whether to go forward with the implementation

Out of scope

For now, the scope is to produce the proposal only, not to develop the recipe.

Target milestone

TBC, potentially the target for proposals will be in advance of Barcelona so the decisions can be made before the conference.
