Offering to maintain menu_block

Problem/Motivation

We are using this module on multiple sites and are very keen to get it up on track through reviewing and merging issues, that are either tagged "RTBC" or "Needs review". The issue queue seems to have a lot of issues in that state, and the maintainers seem to be busy otherwise.

My co-worker @Anybody and I would like to apply for (co-)maintainership for this quite useful module!

If running through the regular process we'll need to change this to change to maintain and I think we need a separate request for each of us (or one of us who adds the other one afterwards). But yes, would be great to have this module up to date!

What issues are causing you most problems here? I see 9 RTBC issues 4 of which are bug reports that probably need to be addressed.

@joelpittet all good, we primarily wanted to smash the RTBC'd issues that have been open and patched for years now, as it seemed the current maintainers don't have the time or are inactive.

TL;DR: We wanted to help to get things done here (and remove the last patches) :)

Thanks for your reply and activity.

By fits and spurts... I will close this but if you have any other RTBC's that I missed that you have been using for years (especially a bug fix) I can add you as a co-maintainer to keep things moving.

    Thanks, @joelpittet!

Seems like all relevant issues affecting us are fixed @Anybody? 📌 Automated Drupal 11 compatibility fixes for menu_block Needs review will be relevant in the future, but I guess that's it?

@Grevil I tried to do that one yesterday too but 2 problems:

    1. Drush 13 (unlucky) wasn't installing on my Drupal 11 local environment
    2. Looking at the new annotations for the class in core we are overriding I assume it's not going to be as easy as enabling it compatibility (but I need to just try it...), I saw some CRs that gave me pause though

@joelpittet sorry to add another one, but we just ran into 🐛 Language cache context should be passed to the block Needs review in a large project, perhaps you could also have a look at that one, if you have an idea how to proceed there correctly?
