The present owner and some of the maintainers are still around. We need to hear their opinion about this. I've sent this PM asking for them to comment here;

As for your colleagues https://www.drupal.org/u/lammensj → and https://www.drupal.org/u/sasosotlar → , they will not be added by a site moderator. They may, however, help out by providing patched and MRs.

Since one of the maintainers (alorenc) responded, thw project is not abandoned. Nothing for the site moderators to do here.

I am moving it back to the External New Tab issue queue to be resolved by the current maintainers of the project.

Hey @alorenc, all I really wanted is a release that is compatible with the latest version of core; I'm not really looking to add to my workload otherwise. I see we have a release now, so closing this issue.
