So, when creating the *Information Architecture*, we found ambiguities in the terminology of *Component* and *Category*:

1. *Component* on https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal → contains around 150 items including:

Umami demo

other

2. *Component* on https://www.drupal.org/node/3339890/edit → contains 8 items:

Issues
Comments
Mail
User interface
Views integration

Miscellaneous

3. *Category* on https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal → contains 5 items:

Bug report
Task
Feature request
Support request
Plan

Recommendation

Combine the above points 2 and 3 into a single *Category* of 13 items
Remove redundant items from 1 eg:

a. user interface
b. documentation

The Component is project specific; Drupal core has different components to other projects.

The Category is not project specific, it is the type of issue.

We need both fields, because for example there could be a bug in Umami or a feature request for Umami or a task for the base system, so I believe this is working as designed.

There is already an issue to tidy up the Components list, so closing as a duplicate of 🌱 [Plan] Update core components Fixed
