Does the new page entirely replace the old other than the mention of abandoned projects?

apaderno - where is the explanation for why the page was removed multiple times?

  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นItaly apaderno Brescia, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Actually, it was removed just twice. The reason is that it has been replaced by a documentation guide โ†’ , as per messages sent and received from the CWG.

A a site moderator, I just want to state that it has been very demotivating to watch what happened here.

I understand that the page that previously existed was replaced with a new one that was a documentation guide. That guide also incorporated some changes to the text describing the policy. Since history was deleted along with the legacy page, it is labour intensive to track these changes.

AFAIK, none of the changes that was done as part of this process was at any point discussed with the team of site moderators. I understand, however, that there has been some interaction between the CWG and apaderno, and I have to assume the CWG approved the changes.

For the record: I do not think the process that led to these changes being made was transparent (as we usually want the process for agreeing on policy should be), nor am I happy with the end result.

@gisle Let's not open a can of worms. You changed the meaning of the previous existing documentation page without opening any issue. You introduced requirements, like creating a new issue instead of moving the offer to be co-maintainer / maintainer / project owner, which were never in the documentation page. Was that transparent?

You keep pointing out what other people do, but you forget what you did.

The page has been restored resolving the problem in the issue summary. There has been confusion over the process followed to make changes to the page, which are better suited discusses elsewhere.

    Therefor. closing this as fixed.

  • Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
