For me this seems like a feature you want to be careful with. Some users may not like that you are now tracking their IP addresses.

Yes, I agree.
This way, we can rely on GDPR or cookie policy rules. I believe there must be a cookie policy popup and any user will see it. If is accepted, then IP/User-agent will be tracked, if not, then I will leave it empty.If you have some other ideas, bring them here too.
