Due to

custom formatters configured for files no longer work, as they are not supported for this new field type.
This is for example problematic when you use the file_entity module.
1) Copy over all formatters from uri to file_uri
2) Do something like

This issue is being reviewed by the kind folks in Slack, #needs-review-queue-initiative. We are working to keep the size of Needs Review queue [2700+ issues] to around 400 (1 month or less), following Review a patch or merge request → as a guide.
Wonder if we can get a test case to show this issue?
Also wonder after 5 years if this could be lowered to a normal?
