I used devel generate for the first time a month ago and here are some problems which I found:
* Taxonomy term names didn't have any spaces in them so it seems they weren't words, but just a random series of characters.
* A varchar / string field I had got immensely long values without any spaces and I doubt any real word could be that long.
This failed to break across lines with word-wrap, broke CSS and caused problems with Search API indexing.

* Generate word-like strings for varchar fields just like node titles.
