Nesting Paragraph into a IEF then translating makes Paragraph field disappear.

Created on 22 August 2017, over 7 years ago
Updated 7 August 2024, 4 months ago

Reproduction Steps

  1. Be on latest Drupal 8, IEF 8.x-1.x-beta1, and latest release of Paragraphs which is 8.x-1.1
  2. Create a paragraph type with one translatable text field
  3. Create a Custom Block type that includes this paragraph type
  4. Create a Node type that uses a entity reference to a content block of the type you created above
  5. Mark the Node, Block, and Paragraphs as translatable and the nested text field as such
  6. Create a Node, then using IEF create a custom block, then add a paragraph.
  7. Translate the node into a non-source language and the paragraphs field will not appear.

Actual Result

The IEF version does not display the paragraph field. Viewing the entity and translating though the block library does.

Expected Result

The field is displayed just like the source language and the translated copy in the block library.

Notes

This is a bizarre edge case, but I'm struggling to figure out how to fix this for a bug reported to me. Hoping that the developers here may have more insight.
