There has been no activity here for 7 years so I wonder if this is still a problem. Is it?
In #busgmash lendude wanted to know if this is using nested forms. He pointed out that if it is then since that is not allowed in html so there is no ‘expected behavior’. If not nested, then he asked how should the form be aware of the parent? He also noted that "you can do something with an attachment and a linked display to combine the two".
The conclusion was that this needs complete steps to reproduce the issue → (starting from "Install Drupal core"). I am adding tags.

If you are experiencing this problem on a supported version of Drupal reopen the issue, by setting the status to 'Active', and provide complete steps to reproduce the issue → (starting from "Install Drupal core").
