Provide a tour which points to settings which are important when you publish a site

Problem/Motivation

Everyone has seen that in D7, sites which are published but not 100% done, with simple things missing.

  • Have a proper site name
  • Enabled error display, disabled CSS/JS aggregation
  • Enabled the /node view, even they have a different frontpage
  • No custom 403/404 page
  • Disabled update module/no proper site mail
  • No custom site logo/favicon
  • Mixed up file permissions

Most of those small bits are kind of trivial to solve, but people just forget about it.

Proposed resolution

Provide a tour/wizard which guides people around, explaining them which small bits they should change in order to improve a lot.

Remaining tasks

- Create an issue fork and merge request.
- Create a tour in the core system module.
- Add FunctionalJavascript or Nightwatch tests for the tour.
- Review the merge request.

  • Security

It is used for security vulnerabilities which do not need a security advisory. For example, security issues in projects which do not have security advisory coverage, or forward-porting a change already disclosed in a security advisory. See Drupal’s security advisory policy for details. Be careful publicly disclosing security vulnerabilities! Use the “Report a security vulnerability” link in the project page’s sidebar. See how to report a security issue for details.

  • Performance

It affects performance. It is often combined with the Needs profiling tag.

  • Novice

It would make a good project for someone who is new to the Drupal contribution process. It's preferred over Newbie.
