Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm not working with Drupal anymore. I'm not sure if I have time to maintain this module in the future.

I have the same issue. In my case the problem was that for drupal root folder I use folder with name 'web' and use symlink 'docroot' (as acquia requires). But when drush gets druapl realpath it takes 'web' as it's a realpath (not symlink) but in composer.json my root path spcified as 'docroot'. So they are different. And if they are different you get this error.
