I have reviewed the issue and worked on a patch.

The patch fixes this by check if formatter is entity reference. While this solution works for the reported issue, I am unsure if it covers all edge cases. Feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Please review the patch and let me know if there are any improvements or alternative approaches you’d suggest

Just tested this functionality and it works for me. Are you sure that you correctly transfer the variable to the template? Maybe instead of term.id() you should use term_id, as you do in the example with the function the core "path"?

Fixed this https://www.drupal.org/project/pdf_api/issues/3348174 🐛 mpdf dependency of psr/log blocking Drupal 10 update Fixed . Update the pdf_api module version to 3.1.0 with all dependencies and it will fix the problem
