TODO: Add a checkbox to the settings form to say "allow tokens" in case someone is having trouble with this feature, or doesn't want the overhead.
I am in the middle of a project, it took us a minute to get updated from an old 3.x-alpha to a newer one. I think this problem exists in 4.x as well.
I attempted to add the token in such a way that would allow many entity types, not just nodes. Probably could use some testing to make sure other types don't throw errors.

I am looking at https://www.drupal.org/project/autosave_form → as that has just made it into Drupal CMS / Starshot. Would be nice if this module could provide that functionality.

I suppose it would also work to check for empty() if it is equal == to the default value. The setUserInput() seemed to be the key here.
