As highlighted by divya.sejekan → , a fixed max-width may not be suitable for all browsers. I also found inconsistencies in the admin/structure/webform form due to the max-width: 300px.

Why not opt for a more flexible approach, for example, by removing the max-width rule?

The max-width ensures a consistent width for the keyword search box across multiple list pages on all browsers.

Let's shorten the placeholder text by changing it from Filter by submission data and/or notes to Filter by data and/or notes.

Another compromise is to change the placeholder text to Filter by submission data or notes

Tweaking the placeholder text is the simplest and safest change. Can someone please confirm that this make sense.

Changed filter submission field placeholder to Filter by data and/or notes as suggested in #8.
This fixed the placeholder being cropped on my side.
