Weight of the "Add content" menu item is not saved

I have just tested with 3.5.3 and was able to change the weight of the menu item item through the Menu edit form at:
/admin/structure/menu/manage/admin
Click on Show row weights at the top of the page, which will display all the weight fields for all the menu items in the Administration menu.

But not through the menu item edit form at:
/admin/structure/menu/link/admin_toolbar_tools.extra_links%3Anode.add/edit

For the time being @sachbearbeiter, if you really need to change the weight of this particular menu item, please use the Menu edit form.

We are open to patches and merge requests, if possible, if anyone has the time to look into this issue.
