[Regression] Alternative thumbnail image missing

Wanted to propose updating the target branch for this issue to 1.0.x. Since this change is more of a bug fix, it might be more appropriate to align it with the 1.0.x release. We can then integrate it into the 1.1.x release subsequently.

Please let me know your thoughts on this.

This issue doesn't replicate on branch 1.0.x, if you read the description of the issue this was working until 1.1.0-rc1 but due to certain commit it started failing and hence this was fixed for 1.1.x branch.
