character count message not visible due to ajax error

Problem/Motivation

When having maxlenght enabled on a text field the character count message disappears after typing a few characters, all i see is an ajax error in the console.

Steps to reproduce

Install and enable maxlenght 3.1.0, add it to a textfield. Start typing, notice that the message is no longer visible

Proposed resolution

Not sure.

@bram.velthoven I have checked this and there is no issue in version 3.1.0, i am attaching video in that you can see there is no ajax error and message is always present, please provide more detail if i missed somthing.
