Integration with Smart Date, Fullcalendar

Created on 7 October 2024, 3 months ago

Problem/Motivation

I notice that the documentation for the integration with Outlook Calendar mentions that "Date(time) fields" must be used when mapping node data to an event in Office 365.

I work on the Smart Date module , which stores start and end times in a single field, as timestamps. It would be trivial to convert these into UTC strings, so that they could be used in the same way. The benefit to the user would be a much more intuitive widget.

Recently I have also been working on the Fullcalendar module , which comes with Google Calendar integration. If it could offer some form of Office 365 integration (for example, to list events from the Office 365 API in addition to Drupal data) that would be an excellent feature.

Proposed resolution

I would love to collaborate with the maintainers of this module, if they would be open to these integrations. I would be happy to take a first stab at the integration for the node creation integration with Smart Date. The potential Fullcalendar integration likely bears additional discussion.
