Content import fail if layout has addition properties

I am getting below error, while importing content in which layout section has additional attribute class added. For e.g. : class|home-teaser

For the the addition attribute of layout contributed module has been used.

I have updated separator used to explode and implode the component of the layout from single pipe(|) to double(||).
Since single pipe will be use in various places.

I have the same error when importing pages created using the layout builder.
Patch #2 fixed the error for me. Thanks! +1 RTBC

I just wanted to add an issue fork with updated code as the patch doesn't apply anymore and noticed this issue seems to be outdated now due to the changes from #3506357.
So I'm closing this issue.
