SMTP is failing randomly

Problem/Motivation

We have recently transitioned from using Swiftmailer to Symfony Mailer Lite and have encountered an issue. Although it is functioning well, it has failed randomly a few times in the last 24 hours. Do you have any insight into what might be causing this problem?

"An attempt to send an e-mail message failed, and the following error message was returned : Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username "username@domain.com using the following authenticators: "LOGIN", "PLAIN". Authenticator "LOGIN" returned "Connection to "smtp-server.com:587" timed out.". Authenticator "PLAIN" returned "Expected response code "235" but got code "250", with message "250 Transaction Reset OK."

The error in the other issue is a different message, but it would be useful to a) confirm which version of symfony/mailer library you have installed, and b) see if rolling back symfony/mailer works to correct your issue, as is described in that other issue.

Rolling back to symfony/mailer:6.4.0 doesn't make any difference. I have only one SMTP transport and not using any advanced SMTP options.
