Problem/Motivation

The only release on the 3.0.x branch, and the only release compatible with Drupal 10, is 3.0.0-alpha1 (2023-10-05). We would like to have a full release that is compatible with Drupal 10.

Looking at the Git log, the 3.0.0-alpha1 tag is a descendant of 2.0.1, so the alpha release should be at least as stable and feature-complete as the full release.

Proposed resolution

One option is to create the 3.0.0 tag/release immediately, identical to the 3.0.0-alpha1 release. We do not need perfection in order to make a full release.

Another option is to decide on which issues to fix before tagging the 3.0.0 release. There could be further alpha, beta, and/or rc releases in between.

Here are some candidate issues, either for post-3.0.0 releases (Option 1) or leading up to the full release (Option 2):

📌 Automated Drupal 10 compatibility fixes Active was fixed on the 3.0.x branch, but left open:

Reopened to accept new patches for future core versions if needed.

I suggest closing that issue.

I'm going to look at most of these issues. I'll merge the ones that I can test or look good.

I'll amend the plan to do an RC-1 first for a few weeks at least.

Once that gets to a full release I'll probably mark it as recommended.

I've reviewed all of these issues and merged the ones that look good, I'm getting ready to push up an rc for now.
