Hi,
I got this error on "Not in Database" choice
TypeError : scandir(): Argument #1 ($directory) must be of type string, false given dans scandir() (ligne 127 de /opt/drupal/www/modules/contrib/auditfiles/src/Auditor/AuditFilesNotInDatabase.php).I think this error occurs because the directory is remote on our S3 and not local.

There are no plans for the maintainers to add S3 or other.
The project itself works with stream wrappers, specific adjustments may be required, which can be addressed in a feature.
Closing as there is nothing actionable, as we don't want to keep these open issues around.
The next step would be a PR.
