The old default behaviour for entity queries was equivalent to accessCheck(TRUE), so this is a behavioural change (which should be explained in the issue if it's on purpose).

Thanks for the issue and work. This is a duplicate of 📌 Fix Entity queries must explicitly set whether the query should be access checked or not in Password Policy RTBC which has been fixed/merged. Adding credit on that issue.
