Problem/Motivation

Drupal view
-- exposed form search field was marked as required
-- search field shows optional when filter is displayed on search page

Steps to reproduce

Views-exposed search filter -- mark this as required
Go to the view-page where the filter is exposed
Notice the search filter is marked as "(optional)"
Check screenshot for reference (attached)

    The fulltext search field used in the screenshot comes from the Search API module, can you reproduce this with just Drupal core fields?

    Since steps to reproduce the issue have not been provided since the issue was postponed over 1 year ago, I'm setting the status to "Closed (works as designed)".

    If anyone can provide complete steps to reproduce the issue (starting from "Install Drupal core"), document those steps in the issue summary and set the issue status back to "Active" and add the details.
