Problem/Motivation

The PMCID field is part of the standard output for the NLM styled citation. It is conspicuous in its absence.

Steps to reproduce

Import a publication with both PMID and PMCID values, and notice the lack of PMCID information in the resulting publication. A sample to test with is PMID 26996306.

Proposed resolution

Add a PMCID field to the Bibcite entity, and populate it when importing references via PubMed lookup. The code I am proposing works in conjunction with code I will post in the related Bibliography & Citation - PubMed (bibcite_pubmed) issue ✨ Pubmed - import PMC and Grant data Needs review .
