Duplicate filters for admins and no shs for anonymous

Looks like related issue.
Not admin user cannot use the SHS if not enabled "Toolbar" permission for registered users.

I can replicate this issue as an anonymous user.
The controller shs.term_data uses the 'access content' permission, so doesn't make sense why we need the 'access toolbar' to be able to access the term data.

It's not a problem of the permissions, but of the libraries. Instead of using core/backbone, I changed it to core/internal.backbone.

See the MR !24 in the comment #9. After you apply the patch, don't forget to run drush cr.

If that solution solves the original problem, we should probably mark this issue as a duplicate.

MR !24 didn't work for me neither did the patch on the referenced issue.

I am using shs for a select field and when I enter a value and save, if I edit the node the field will appear twice it two levels and thrice if 3 levels. It's messy.

I can't make a patch so I can only report.
