My proposed solution - other then in https://www.drupal.org/project/gin_lb/issues/3349745 🐛 File upload button in Media Library missing in rc-3 Fixed - is not to fix the missing templates and preprocessing from claro, but to disable the whole media integration at all.
In order to achieve this, I added a new setting "Enable media library integration" which is enabled by default. With this setting it is possible to just disable the integration and work with the default behaviour of drupal.
