Listening session with Sara at Florida Drupal Camp notes:

Drupal.org username: capysara

Feedback:

  1. I'd like a link to the drupal.org page when I'm in Project Browser looking at the module's full project detail page. I look to see when the last stable and dev releases were so I have an idea how active the module is. I also want to see how many issues are in the queue. I don't think that information has to be in Project Browser, but I look for that stuff before I make my final decision on installing a module.
  2. It's not clear to me what the "maintained" filter means.
  3. When I switched from grid to list display, I kinda expected less info so I can see more modules at a time, but I'm not sure what could be cut.
  4. List display includes an icon next to Active installs.
  5. Some logos get cut off on the grid display view, e.g., Pager Serializer.
  6. When Automatic Updates is installed, who has permission to use the Install button the page?
  7. It might be helpful to have some brief definition for the categories, like a link to a page with a one sentence explanation, or maybe on the Help page.
  8. I look at how many installs and who the maintainers are when I'm deciding if I'm going to use a module. I think that info should be displayed, but not necessarily prominently displayed.

    Thanks for the feedback Sara.

    * I'd like a link to the project page.
Do you mean from the card or list view? And do you mean the project detail page we are creating for the project browser or the current Drupal.org project page?

    * It's not clear to me what the "maintained" filter means.
Good point. It's actually for projects with "actively maintained" or "Minimally maintained" selected on the drupal.org project page. I need t check to see if "seeking co-maintainer" and "seeking new maintainer" are also still included

    * When I switched from grid to list display, I kinda expected less info so I can see more modules at a time, but I'm not sure what could be cut.
They both display the same information at the moment. Except for that icon on the list view. Not sure if that adds any value.

    * List display includes an icon next to Active installs.
    See line above

    * Some logos get cut off on the grid display view, e.g., Pager Serializer.
That logo does not conform to the logo requirements. It is not square and is not 512x512. I'll create an issue to fix that

    * When Automatic Updates is installed, who has permission to use the Install button the page?
I need to get you an answer to that. I'm not seeing permissions

    * It might be helpful to have some brief definition for the categories, like a link to a page with a one sentence explanation, or maybe on the Help page.
We are working on that. INput on this issue would be helpful to us https://www.drupal.org/project/project_browser/issues/3340350 πŸ“Œ New Categories for Project Browser - Target User Feedback Closed: outdated

Thanks. there is an issue for the layout of the detail page if you would like to give additional input on that https://www.drupal.org/project/project_browser/issues/3230734 ✨ Improve project descriptions by using a template suggestion for the body field Fixed

Thanks for all your help this weekend. Ping me at @leslieg on drupal slack on drupal.org with any questions

    Thanks Leslie!

I'm updating my first bullet (it was pretty vague):

I'll take a look at the other issues you pointed to.
