Can I use this module to import shapefiles, arcgis, or esri data?

What is the purpose of adding gasparesganga/php-shapefile with composer?

I've checked the documentation and haven't found info.

The more pressing question is: how? I can import the geometry of the source into a geometry field. But all the Meta-/Nongeometry Data is hard to assign.

Maybe there could be a workaround like, using geolocation field with ECK → or pararagraphs → , but is it feasible?

If got a working "Feeds" Parser plugin working for Shape files. So Feeds will do the assigning part. That's my intended way forwards.

Additionally I intend to build full GPX support. At least all elements and properties are known before there.

I'm not sure, but I consider this fixed now. There are many things that could be done here. I settled for using the "feeds" module now.

You can enable the "geolocation geometry data" module. This will import 3 shapefiles for countries, US states and CAN provinces. You can then take a look, how this is configured.
