Use font awesome with link field

Add some sort of widget that can be used with the link field. I wish to create buttons with an icon, text and goes to a url when clicked.

Also looking for this exact thing - exploring options using custom_field, double_field, paragraphs, etc. but they all seem very complex for the simple functionality of adding fontawesome icons to link field links.
