On any manage form display page if you tab to a gear icon, press space, the field formatter opens up and instead of that the first field gets into focus the focus gets lost. And on the next tab the focus is visible again on Skip to main content. That jump is confusing and completely unexpected to the user. Initially reported in the google spreadsheet in drupal 9.2.x. i've retested and can confirm that the issue is still in place for 9.4.x-dev. tested with safari 13.1.2 and the latest firefox.
- go to for example admin/structure/comment/manage/comment/form-display
- tab to the first gear icon and press space.
* The issue was created after an agreement with @ckrina in todays claro meeting to move all issues from the google spreadsheet into dedicated child issues for the focus visible meta issue. the issue was found by @abowman. if one of the maintainers could add an issue credit for her please. thank you
