Problem/Motivation

On the views ui edit page you can't see the original language of the current view you're editing!
This is a huge problem as all labels have to be entered in that language. Very often admins now enter the texts in a wrong language.

The only way currently to see the language to use is to click "edit view name / description" which is a UX nightmare. That's the reason why I rate this as bug.

Steps to reproduce

Edit a view in a multilingual environment and ask yourself what's the original language of the view.

Proposed resolution

Show the views original language in or below the title. also perhaps the description and tags might be displayed for details in the edit view, which could improve the UX in #1938576: Tags and Language setting not discoverable under "edit view name/description" button β†’

One option could be to show it behind the "Edit" link, as what it means is, you're currently editing in English! All texts in the UI should be entered in that language.

Remaining tasks

  1. Decide where to put the language information in UI
  2. Implement
  3. Review
