Probably, there was a misconfiguration on your custom view.
When updating a view to use VERF there are schema missing errors presenting in functional test output.
Schema errors for views.view.my_view with the following errors: views.view.my_view.display.my_display.display_options.filters.type_verf.expose.reduce missing schema
1. Create view with verf filters
1. Export view to module
1. Add verf as dependency to module
1. Functionally test module
1. Note above reported errors
1. Change `verf.schema.yml` to `verf.views.schema.yml`
1. Update filter schema to include integer mapping for expose.reduce
