Number formatter not implemented for views aggregation

Problem/Motivation

The Number Formatter has not been implemented for views when formatting a number e.g. an aggregated sum in views. This is especially annoying when individual number fields (eg) can be formatted using the Number Formatter for non-aggregated views

Steps to reproduce

Create a view with aggregation
Sum a number field
Number formatting is missing for the aggregated sum field

Still I think the trick from #2 is hard to find, so would be better to improve this in the module or document the workaround?

It would be super to implement it in the module!

I have no clue currently on how to do that and can't find the time to dig into it, unfortunately (haven't found the time in the last 3.5 years…).

Patches, directions, proof-of-concepts, etc. are more than welcome!
