I'm running 2 language website with Media entity which has file field and default description field.
I want to translate description of every file in two languages.
If I go to /admin/structure/media > Edit Media Type > Manage Fields > Edit File Field and check "Users may translate this field" — file disappears from the second language (not translated), so I have to upload it again. But some files are 500mb, it will be a huge waste of disk space to duplicate them just to translate description.
I want to keep the same file and be able to translate DEFAULT description field. Description doesn't have any options, just on/off selector at the bottom of the same page.
Is it a bug?
