Hi,

It is great that "Save term lineage" is now in. Super! Issue: https://www.drupal.org/project/cshs/issues/2376903 → . It works great thanks!

I know that is said that adding a term is not within the scope of this module 4 years ago ( https://www.drupal.org/project/cshs/issues/2834139 → )
But it is 4 years later, and there is still not another module like CSHS on Drupal 8. Hierarchical Select has stopped since Drupal 7.

Simple Hierarchical Select has this functionality, but not such a nice User Interface as CSHS and not the term lineage:(

Would you please consider to add new terms functionality within CSHS. Then this module is a real replacement for HS in D7.

I do not understand what you mean with the remark that adding terms is possible with "Inline Entity Form". Is that an alternative to be able to add terms when you are adding a node to the system?

Thanks again for considering to add the add terms functionality to the edit-node form, than we do not first to add a term to the taxonomy, refresh the node, and than, add the term to the node correctly.

    Hi,
    We are now on Drupal 10! Still there is no nice replacement of all functionality of Hierarchical Select!
    Still No add new terms on node pages.

    Would someone consider to build this within CSHS?

    The name of this module says "select" in its name, so the chance is high that this project focuses on extending the select widget with hierarchy support. ;)

    But - If followers are not aware: there is a project called "select or other" which imitates the requested part extending select widgets with the feature to add another (new) term to select widgets. Sadly the widget replaces any other widget so it cannot be combined with cshs or similars. But I wanted to point you to this direction in case users have ideas or the wish how to maybe combine both widgets into one or to maybe ask here or in the issue queue of the other project to support each other (FR).

    This could be a possible go-to road map for the future. Hope it helps.
