When the revision information for a content type is hidden by simplify module no revisions for the nodes of this content types are saved any more although the "Save revision" option in the content type settings is checked.
The desired behaviour would be that revisions are still generated. Hiding the revisions info is useful if you want the prevent users from unchecking the "Create new revision" box to _always_ save revisions.
